Subscriptions without the churn spiral

Pause instead of cancel, smart retries and a portal buyers can actually find. Small changes, big compounding.

Most subscription churn is not a decision to leave. It is a card that expired, a renewal that arrived at an awkward month, or a customer who could not find the settings page and hit cancel because it was the only button they could see.

Adding a pause option in front of the cancel button recovers a meaningful share of that. Across accounts that enabled it, 31% of people who reached the cancel flow paused instead — and 68% of those resumed within three months.

Involuntary churn responds to retry logic. Naive daily retries burn through issuer limits; spacing attempts across days three, five, seven and fourteen, and skipping weekends, recovered 34% more failed charges in our data.

None of this works if buyers cannot reach the portal. Put the link in the receipt, the renewal reminder and the footer of every email. The cheapest retention feature you own is a URL people can find.
